MALACCA: Two men armed with pistols staged a daring robbery at a goldsmith outlet in Jalan Bunga Raya and carted away RM600,000 worth of gems at about 10.10am here today.
Malacca CID Chief ACP Salehhudin Abd Rahman said the incident happened moments after the shop owner had opened his shop for business at about 9.40am.
During the incident, two robbers, one pointing a pistol, entered the shop and ordered the owner of the shop to hand over trays of gems meant for display, he told reporters here today.
Salehhudin said the robbers later escaped with their loot on a motorcycle that was parked in front of the shop.
