Maid claims rape during robbery
SHAH ALAM: The home of a politician in Section 13 here was broken into and ransacked by seven Indonesian men early yesterday.
The politician is on holiday abroad with his family.
Their Indonesian maid, who was alone at home when the men broke in, claimed that she was raped during the robbery.
The men entered the house about 2.30am. The maid was tied up while they ransacked the house.
"The maid, who is in her 20s, alleged that she was raped and has been sent to hospital for a medical examination," a police source said. "The men spent an hour or so searching the house before leaving.
"However, there are discrepancies in the maid's statement and the police are expected to detain her to facilitate investigations."
It is unclear how much cash and valuables the robbers took. The police are waiting for the politician to return to estimate the actual losses.
