A 36-year-old man was shot at least six times by unknown gunmen on a motorcycle while he was waiting to pick up his son from school near Jalan Gasing.
However, the victim, despite being injured from two of the shots, managed to drive off but in the process rammed into a lamp post.
The man then drove on and crashed into another car in the 12.30pm incident yesterday.
He was then sent to a hospital nearby and was later transferred to University Malaya Medical Centre where he had surgery and was warded in the Intensive Care Unit.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed said the motive of the attack has yet to be ascertained.
“There is little information on the case at the moment except that the man is currently an accused in a robbery case,” he said.
