Men throw molotov cocktails at ATMs
IPOH, Sun: Police are investigating an incident in Sitiawan where a group of men in a car threw molotov cocktails at the automated teller machines (ATM) in three banks in Sitiawan, about 80km from here early this morning.
Manjung district police chief ACP Jamil Osman said the incident which happened between 1am and 3am, however, did not cause a major fire.
The ATMs were located in the Public Bank, AMbank and Maybank branches in Taman Samudera, Sitiawan.
He added that police were investigating the incident and would view recordings from the closed circuit TV (CCTV) installed at the respective banks.
"We are not certain of the motive...but initial investigations reveal that some men in a car had thrown the molotov cocktails. No money was reported lost in the incident," he said.
