Rela man slashed to death

ALOR STAR: A Rela member was found killed in a rubber plantation in Felcra Bukit Tegur in Pendang near here on Monday.

The body of Bakar Nayan was discovered by rubber tappers at 1.45pm. He was slashed on the head and face.

Bakar's son, Sobri, 22, said he had taken his father, who was a security guard at the plantation, to work about noon on Monday.

"I then went to pick up my brother from school. On the way back, I saw five or six foreigners running away from where I had left my father.

"I did not think anything of it until later in the evening when I got the bad news," he said at his home in Pendang yesterday.
