KUANTAN: Three masked men armed with parang broke into a house in Kampung Sungai Pelong, Jalan Pancing, early yesterday and made off with RM40,000 in cash and jewellery.
The three, believed to be foreigners, entered the house by the kitchen door about 4am. They woke up the head of the house, a 56-year-old businessman, his wife and their 13-year-old son and other members of the family and herded them into the living room. The robbers tied them up and ransacked the house.
It was learnt that the businessman managed to free himself about an hour later and he reported to the police at Jaya Gading.
