Robbers jump over house gate to rob family

KLANG: Six people fought off armed robbers who had caused an old lady to fall, but three members of the family were injured. A father and son were seriously injured during the attempted robbery at a bungalow in Taman Sentosa Saujana here. They were sitting in the garden when four men jumped over the fence at 11.30pm on Sunday.Caught on camera: A scene captured on CCTV during the home invasion in Klang. The robbers, armed with machetes, threatened to hurt the family members if they resisted. Sources said the incident turned awry when the suspects entered the house and began robbing the family. In the process they caused the 82-year-old matriarch of the family, who was inside the house, to fall down.This angered the family members and they rushed into the house to rescue the woman and put up a fight with the robbers.Sources said the family managed to apprehend one of the suspects but the other three escaped - only to return minutes later with two accomplices to rescue their friend. This second fight caused one of the male family members to suffer head injuries while another was slashed in the neck. A third man sustained injuries to his body. The sources said the robbers escaped empty-handed in two cars after saving their friend. The victims, who have been living there for three years, were rushed to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital and were reported to be in stable condition. Those injured are aged between 20 and 58. Police are scrutinising the CCTV footages obtained from the house to identify the robbers.
