Servants steal RM4m while boss is on holiday

3 years, 11 months ago at Kuala Lumpur on 05 Jun 2009 reported by Grissom

TWO maids stole RM4mil worth of valuables and cash from their employer, a Datuk, while he and his family were holidaying abroad.

China Press reported that they stole jewellery, Rolex watches, ornaments and RM100,000.

The theft was discovered when the 45-year-old employer returned to his luxury home in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

The two maids, who had been serving their employer for years, knew where the valuables were kept.

Immigration records showed that the maids left the country before the Datuk returned from his holiday. Kuala Lumpur police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Muhammad Sabtu Osman confirmed the case and said police were seeking the help of Interpol and the Indian police to trace the maids’ whereabouts.
