CITY police have arrested two taxi drivers and are looking for three of their accomplices, including a woman, believed to have been involved in assaulting and robbing foreign passengers.
Kuala Lumpur CID Chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah said the two men, one aged 20 and the other 52, were detained on May 5 around the Puduraya area.
"Their modus operandi was to pick passengers like Bangladeshis and later on pick up another accomplice and take their passengers to secluded places before assaulting and robbing them," he told reporters here today.
He added that initial investigations revealed that they had been involved in 28 such cases since January but none of the victims had reported the incidents until a victim from Nepal lodged a police report.
"Since the taxis belonged to individual and a company, the owners of the taxis have been called up to assist in the investigations," he said. - Bernama
Precisely, our town taxi are dirty from the outlook and stink to sit in. They use to plug the price from the air and its sound ridiculous. Thats why people here desperately want to own a car. So the road congestion will never end.
I never dare to take taxi alone...most of the drivers doesn't looks sincere and taxi normally stink with cigarette. I really hate it.
