Teen who robbed and raped maid detained

A teenager who allegedly robbed and raped a foreign maid at a house in Taman Jaya Baru, Kajang, has been detained.

The 19-year-old was arrested in Kuala Lumpur a week after the Oct 3 incident where the teenager broke into the house at about 2pm and tied up the 20-year-old maid before ransacking the house.

OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rasyid Abdul Wahab said he took cash and valuables totalling about RM8,000 before setting his eyes on the young maid.

“He then allegedly raped the woman before fleeing,” he said.

ACP Abdul Rasyid said the maid freed herself and informed her employer who lodged a police report on the same day.

“Based on the photo fit provided by the victim we managed to arrest the suspect at Lorong Haji Taib,” he said.

“We believed the youth has been monitoring the movement of the maid before committing the crime.”
