KUALA LUMPUR: Two foreign women were arrested after police discovered that they were smuggling RM480,000 worth of cocaine in their stomachs.
The two Thai nationals were believed to be working for an international drug smuggling ring based in Thailand with African connections.
City Narcotics chief Asst Comm Kang Chez Chiang said the two women, aged 25 and 37, were arrested in separate incidents at the Puduraya bus terminal on July 3 and 7.
“Both women were brought to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for X-rays in which police found at least 165 capsules of cocaine inside their stomachs,” he said during a press conference at city police headquarters Friday.
