Woman and boyfriend held over kid's death

Police have arrested a woman and her boyfriend who are alleged to have abused and caused the death of her three-year-old son.
“The 37-year-old mother claimed that her son fell down in the bathroom earlier and she only realised it at around 11.30pm on Wednesday,” said Johor Baru (North) deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Akhir Ishak.
He added that the duo were arrested at around 3am yesterday.
The incident took place at the couple’s home in Jalan Hang Tuah, Taman Skudai Baru. The victim had injuries on his face and head.
“Initial investigations revealed that the boy’s death was due to abuse,” said Supt Mohd Akhir.
