A woman's quick action in catching a burning matchstick saved her husband from being burnt alive, reported Harian Metro.

In the 3.30pm incident on Friday, four men broke into the couple's house at Bandar Rinching, Semenyih and doused the 37-year-old man with petrol.

One of the four suspects then lit a match but the wife managed to put out it out with her hand.

The couple were watching television when they heard the sound of breaking glass.

“The men were armed with parang and entered the house after breaking the sliding door.

“They then assaulted the husband before pouring petrol on him,” said a police source.

One of the men said someone wanted to kill the husband for meddling into other people's business.
